School reopening for Grades 6 to 12
Every learner at The Indian Public School - Salem feels safe, respected and supported in class and beyond. Students build confidence through social and emotional learning, check-in and check-out and a year-long mentor–mentee programme. Personalised learning support, language support and dedicated safeguarding officers ensure the right help at the right time.
Students grow through a personalised wellbeing journey. Through SEL, reflection circles and trusted mentorship, children build resilience, confidence and skills for life, balancing academic progress with friendships, creativity, movement and rest.
Student voice and agency
Lead decisions, share ideas in check-ins and own a personalised path every day.
Balanced learning
Balance study, play, creativity and rest to build resilience, focus and energy for transformational learning.
Safe spaces
Find safe spaces to talk, share feelings in reflection circles and reset before stepping back into learning.
Positive relationships
Build friendships, mentor peers and grow confidence through collaborative projects and shared wins.
Social and emotional learning
Develop self-awareness, manage emotions and read social cues through SEL routines every day.
Students build confidence when ideas genuinely shape the day. In check-ins and reflection circles, they share views, set clear goals and track progress with simple tools. Children lead discussions, suggest improvements and own decisions that shape learning and community.
Students build a balanced rhythm that keeps minds focused and bodies energised. They move between lessons, creative projects and active play, then pause in reflection circles to reset. Children learn skills for life as they manage time, notice stress and choose healthy next steps.
Students treat the campus as a safe base for honest emotions. In calm corners, journals and regular check-ins, they name feelings before they overflow. Children reach out to trusted adults early, ask for support and return to learning with steady confidence.
Students build strong friendships through teams, clubs and shared projects. Children practise empathy, listen first and solve problems together. They mentor younger peers, celebrate small wins and turn mixed groups into communities that feel welcoming every day.
Students use SEL routines to understand what they feel and need. Children spot triggers, choose breathing or movement breaks and calm tense moments with clear words. They read social cues, handle friendship changes and grow resilience in every part of school life.
Students learn in classrooms where teaching is adapted to their strengths, languages and pace, so every learner can participate with confidence. With targeted academic and social-emotional support, multilingual language pathways and close partnerships with families and specialists, students feel seen, respected and ready to thrive in a diverse, inclusive community.
Students experience a daily culture of respect, kindness and reflection that helps them handle challenges with empathy and resilience. Through leadership roles, restorative approaches to conflict and meaningful community action projects, they practise taking responsibility, supporting others and growing as compassionate, globally minded citizens.
TIPS is truly my second home, where I feel valued, supported, and empowered every single day.
Ms. Thenmozhi, HRT – KG 1
I am S. Thenmozhi, and I have been working at TIPS for the past 11 years. As an IB teacher, I initially knew very little about the curriculum, but here, I have grown so much. I have learned how to communicate effectively, how to engage children in inquiry-based learning, and how to adapt my teaching to their needs. Every year, I have been given new opportunities for learning through internal and external trainings, which I bring back to the classroom to help my students grow. I am deeply thankful to my coordinators and colleagues, as each one has unique knowledge in different areas, and I learn and incorporate many new ideas from them. The management, and especially our Principal Mrs. Aruna Maheswari mam, has always believed in me and guided me whenever I needed support. She gave me an opportunity to take up the role of Health and Safety Coordinator, through which I am learning even more about safety and creating a secure environment for children. Thanks to the management and my team, I have never felt insecure for a single day. I always feel safe and secure here at TIPS, and I feel a deep sense of success knowing that I am making a difference. TIPS is truly my second home, where I feel valued, supported, and empowered every single day.
