TIPS school group join ISP
TIPS Schools group joined ISP, giving students a global network, collaborative learning opportunities, and the skills to thrive as true global citizens.
The story begins with the registration of S.S.C Trust, created with a clear vision: to nurture future‑ready learners through values‑driven education. This milestone set the framework for establishing high‑quality schools that balance rigorous academics with character formation and community engagement, paving the way for what would grow into The Indian Public School.
TIPS Salem opened its doors as the first truly international school in the city, with an inquiry-led approach that helps students thrive in academics and co-curriculars. Spread across six acres, it features spacious classrooms, modern science and computer labs, a 5,000+ title library, extensive sports facilities and creative studios.
June 2015 marked a major leap as The Indian Public School - Salem main campus opened, bringing together a dedicated administrative block and a spacious primary block. Students gained access to a welcoming library, an international‑standard soccer ground, and a full athletics track with gallery seating. The new campus created room for growth, stronger academics, and a richer student life, on and off the field.
September 2015 brought official CBSE affiliation for classes from Early Years to Grade 7, validating the school’s academic rigour and governance. This recognition ensured that students could learn within a structured, nationally respected curriculum while still benefiting from TIPS’s holistic, activity‑rich approach, opening recognised pathways for higher studies across India and beyond.
In June 2017, the campus expanded again with a dedicated secondary block designed for focused subject learning and future‑ready skills. Alongside it, a contemporary auditorium with an indoor swimming pool became a vibrant hub for cultural events, performances, gatherings, and aquatic training. These additions enriched campus life, offering students broader opportunities to excel academically, artistically, and athletically.
In September 2018, TIPS Salem reached another academic milestone with the extension of its CBSE affiliation to Grade 10. This enabled students to continue their learning journey within a structured, nationally recognised curriculum for longer, while benefiting from the school’s holistic and activity-rich approach. It also strengthened academic continuity and readiness for future board examinations.
In December 2019, our youngest learners moved from the original KG campus into a newly designed early‑years environment. Filled with natural light, child‑friendly furniture, safe outdoor play areas, and inviting learning corners, the campus quickly became a joyful second home. The move reflected our belief that thoughtfully crafted spaces play a vital role in nurturing curiosity, independence, and foundational skills.
June 2021 marked a proud milestone as the school achieved authorization for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, becoming the first IB PYP school in Salem district. The PYP framework brought a robust inquiry‑led, concept‑driven approach to learning, encouraging students to ask questions, make connections, and take action in their world, while embedding international‑mindedness in everyday classroom practice.
In April 2022, CBSE affiliation was extended to include Grades 11 and 12, allowing learners to complete their entire school journey within the same trusted ecosystem. Senior secondary students now benefit from carefully curated subject combinations, strong academic mentoring, and competitive‑exam readiness, all while continuing to experience the caring environment that has shaped their early and middle‑school years.
October 2023 signalled another step towards global readiness as the school registered to provide the Cambridge curriculum in Salem. This addition broadened academic choice for students, combining international academic standards with a focus on critical thinking, communication, and problem‑solving. Families can now select the pathway that best matches each learner’s aspirations, all within the supportive environment of a single, unified campus.
Following a rigorous IB evaluation visit in October 2025, the school’s PYP authorization was confirmed for the next five years. The report highlighted strong implementation of the IB philosophy, collaborative planning, and student engagement. This continued authorization reflects our commitment to ongoing reflection and improvement, ensuring that learners experience a consistently high‑quality IB education.
This was a transformative milestone for TIPS schools as they became a proud member of International Schools Partnership - ISP. Â Becoming an ISP school was TIPS schools gateway to a dynamic global network of world-class schools. It provided access to unparalleled opportunities for our students to collaborate across continents, engage in innovative learning projects, and develop the skills to thrive as true global citizens.
