From first subject choices to final offer letters, students follow a clear, guided pathway. Expert counsellors, college advisors and the Future Pathways team stay beside them at every stage. Students explore options, gain real‑world exposure and build strong applications, so they move from school into higher education and careers with confidence.
From the senior grades, students move from “I’m not sure” to clear next steps. In one‑to‑one conversations and guided activities, they explore what they enjoy, where they excel and how they want to grow.
Students then connect these insights to CBSE and Cambridge subject and stream choices. By the end of Grades 8 and 10, they see how each decision links to real careers and university pathways in India and abroad.
TIPS - Salem Career Guidance Placement Services and the Future Pathways team work together around each learner. Students shortlist good‑fit colleges and universities, not just well‑known names.
They receive current guidance on Indian and international admissions, key deadlines and entrance tests, including SAT, JEE and NEET where relevant. With access to over 200 global universities and a strong outcomes record – including a 91% college placement rate and recent cohorts where 30 of 34 learners entered leading institutions – students build balanced college lists that match their profile and aspirations.
When it is time to apply, students are not left to figure it out alone. Counsellors guide them through each step of the process: shaping a compelling personal story, drafting and refining college essays and statements of purpose, and coordinating recommendation letters with teachers.
Applications and résumés are reviewed carefully to ensure they present each learner’s achievements, strengths and potential in the strongest possible way.
Beyond one‑to‑one guidance, students explore options first‑hand. They join university roadshows, college fairs, expert talks, fireside chats and campus visits where they meet representatives, ask direct questions and compare courses, cities and countries.
Students also take part in Olympiads, competitions and student‑led conferences. These experiences strengthen their profiles and build the confidence they need for life beyond school.
A strong network surrounds every TIPS Salem learner. Our active TIPS Alumni community keeps graduates connected, sharing feedback on universities, courses, careers and placement outcomes after Grade 12.
Through our partnership with Univariety, a Singapore based organisation, students explore higher study options in India and abroad on an online platform that supports counsellors and families. As part of International Schools Partnership, students connect to over 200 universities, from leading Indian institutions to top global campuses.
At TIPS, structured college and career guidance begins early and continues throughout the senior grades. Our grade-wise journey combines strong academics, Future Pathways support, and global opportunities so that students can understand their strengths, explore options and make well-informed decisions about higher education and careers.
Laying the groundwork
Students in Grade 8 begin reflecting on their strengths, interests and aspirations. With early guidance, they start to see how choosing IGCSE subjects or CBSE streams can be aligned to future higher education and career possibilities.
Exploring options
Grade 9 students engage more deeply with TIPS Career Guidance Placement Services. They discuss different career fields, understand the range of courses and institutions available, and begin to narrow broad interests into more focused goals in India and abroad.
Making informed subject choices
In Grade 10, students link subject and stream decisions to their longer-term plans. Counsellors help them choose suitable pathways after Grade 10 (for CBSE and Cambridge AS & A Level), ensuring that academic choices support their intended careers and higher education direction.
Planning for university
In Grade 11, students work with the Career Guidance Placement Services team to identify good‑fit colleges and universities. They learn about domestic and international application requirements, key timelines, and how their current academic performance and activities influence future opportunities.
Applying and choosing the next step
By Grade 12, students are ready to move from planning to action. They draft and refine college essays and personal statements, coordinate recommendation letters with teachers, review their applications and résumés with counsellors, and use information from workshops, university roadshows and college fairs to make confident final decisions about where to study next.
TIPS students gain access to many of the most prestigious universities in India and around the world, often exceeding college admission requirements and national admissions rates at elite universities.
