Children aged 1.8 to 5.5 grow through play, stories and hands-on discovery at The Indian Public School - Salem Early Years. Montessori, Waldorf and IB-inspired learning help them explore and think with confidence. In small, caring groups, they build language, movement, social skills and independence, step by step, ready for primary school and the wider world. Playgroup, Pre-KG, KG 1 and KG 2 nurture every stage of early growth.

Our curriculum

Playgroup

Children aged 18 months to 2.5 years step into Playgroup ready to explore, create and connect. Each day they move through simple routines that feel familiar and safe, while sensory play invites them to touch, pour, build and experiment. With caring adults close by, children try new things, use new words, make friends and grow in confidence in every space they explore.

Pre-KG

Outbound learning Foodie Friday Early Years development sessions  KIDS club

Outbound learning

Students step out to Pazhamudhir Nilayam, Magizh organic farm, Kurumbampatti zoological park and a horse cart ride, connecting UOI learning to real life as they ask questions, try local activities and grow confidence, independence and practical skills for life.

Foodie Friday

On Foodie Friday, Pre-KG children chop, mix and plate simple fire-free snacks with their friends. Each week they follow picture recipes, share tools and tidy up, growing early cooking skills, healthy habits, confidence and the joy of eating what they make.

Early Years development sessions 

Parents join free early years development sessions on raising emotionally strong children, child nutrition and storytelling. They try simple routines, share real challenges and leave with practical tools to nurture calm, healthy and confident young learners.

KIDS club

Children build confidence and new skills in Kids Club, a joyful space where they explore interests, express creativity and stay active after class. Through arts, movement, dance and simple fitness routines, they create, collaborate and grow while developing coordination, resilience and a love for learning.
